Description
Melanotan II (MT-2) is a cyclic lactam analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), developed at the University of Arizona as a non-selective agonist of the melanocortin receptors. Its cyclic structure makes it far more stable and considerably more potent than native α-MSH. Research has focused primarily on MC1R-driven melanogenesis — the stimulation of eumelanin synthesis in melanocytes and the resulting pigmentation response — as well as on MC4R-mediated pathways affecting appetite and sexual function, the latter leading to the development of the related compound bremelanotide. Supplied as a sterile lyophilized powder for reconstitution, this vial is intended exclusively for laboratory research and collector purposes.
